Join the travelers on THE LATE BUS... A collection of odd characters who tried to escape their mundane and miserable lives, only to end up in purgatory...travelling in circles, for unspecified times to unknown destinations. ALL ABOARD...

The Late Bus is a black comedy based on an original script by University of East Anglia (UEA) graduate, Alison Porter, which was further developed using improvised material from a group of professional actors, a visual artist and a theatre director.

It is the story of a group of people circling London on a bus in the afterlife. The passengers are from different backgrounds and times but have one thing in common they have all committed suicide. The play explores a number of themes including; the pressures of modern life on teenagers and their parents, personal space, the nature of the suicidal state and society’s reaction to suicide

The company are working in partnership with the local mental health charity Mind to highlight the scale of suicide in the UK. 24,000 10-19 year olds attempt suicide every year (source National Union of Students Factsheet). Their CEO Peter Gianfrancesco, described the play as ‘a thoughtful comment on suicide’.
