Description
Anniversary - An Act of Memory: A national participatory art project
Anniversary - An Act of Memory is a national participatory art project featuring artist Monica Ross to mark the 60th anniversary year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Artist Monica Ross is striving to embody the Declaration by attempting to memorise it in entirety and to reiterate it in 60 public places throughout 2009. This unique multi-linguistic performance will be taking place in The Women's Library, East London where Monica will be joined by women of ages and different backgrounds, from across London. School children from East London have also chosen to memorise articles from the Declaration and perform in unison with her. The recitals will take place in over 20 different languages. You can come and watch this performance or if you would like to take part, please contact The Women’s Library.
