The weekly round up as back with a spring in it's step and a pocket full of optimism.
First reports of some of this year's free festivals are starting to come through, the sun's out and firefox hasn't crashed once today.
It's still a bit quiet this weekend, although International Women's Day is being celebrated with the Million Women Rise March being held on Saturday in Central London. Women's History Month is also being celebrated across Tower Hamlets, at Shortwave Cinema on Saturday (not free, but cheap) and at Housman's Bookshop with events taking place throughout March.
The London East Festival begins on Thursday (4th March) with a huge amount of events across East London many of which are free. The Barbican Centre has a Do Something Different Weekend with lots of free and cheap stuff to do for folk of all ages over both days of the weekend.
London's 5th Free School Weekender is also being held over the weekend with a wide range of classes and workshops at social centres and autonomous spaces across London.
It's a fine time all round for autonomous spaces with the Rampart posse promising a new social centre soon, the Livesey Museum on the Old Kent Road currently occupied, a new squatted space in Richmond and 195 Mare Street, The Library House and Kew Bridge Eco-Village all still going strong.
And since we're talking 'bout revolution here's a plug for this year's Mayday celebration which include an Election Meltdown Carnival on Parliament Square.
That's all for now, browse the categories for 100s more free or very cheap events and then join our facebook group - cos yer worth it.
