In the hope of what promises to be several improvements, Free London now has a news page.  We'll be covering event related stories, following festival news and generally just spouting our mouths off.  Contributions are welcome - contact us.

The big news this week is that the hugely popular RISE Festival looks set to make a comeback, but they need cash, lots of it and urgently.  Visit their website at http://www.uprise.org.uk/, join the facebook group and please help spread the word.

It's International Women’s Week in Tower Hamlets this week and the ever busy alternative arts have a range of events lined up to celebrate and explore women's roles in politics.

One of Central London biggest outdoor parties takes place on Sunday, when Trafalgar Square celebrates St Patrick's Day.  Expect Irish food, drink, crafts and music including Mundy and Camille O’Sullivan on the main stage.  Not to be upstaged, the Borough of Brent are hosting the Real St Patricks Day celebration on St Patricks Day (March 17th) itself next week.

Plotting is well underway for the May Day Carnival due to be held in Parliament Square on May Day.  To join the plot head to the Foundry in Shoreditch this weekend for the fourth Election Meltdown Mobilisation gathering.

Finally it's Mother's Day on Sunday and Sh! Womens Erotic Emporium are inviting folk to take their Mums to the store where they promise look after her with bubbly, cup cakes and short talk about 'fun n' frolics in your 50's (or over... or just under).

And that's all folks, browse the listings for hundreds more free events and don't forget to help bring back RISE!
